Starting the day off the Kettle notched their first victory of the season, defeating the Grunions by a score of 20-10. Leading the way for the Kettle were Jon Chapman, Chuck Berez, and Doug Westhoff all with four hits apiece. Howard Thompson, Carlos Arias, Ernie Rounsefel, Gary Frueholz, Hal Hamersmith and Mike Abeles all had 3 hits each to round out the Kettle’s 34 hit attack. The Grunions now tied with the Kettle in 4th place were led by Hugh John McDonald 4 hits, Joe Rassulo 3 hits, David Inouye, Brian Heffernan and Eddie Womick each with 2 hits, Brian with a double and Fast Eddie a triple in the game.

The 2nd game was not played as the Jets forfeited to Admiral Risty being short on players for this week’s contest.
