The 1st game was won by the White Team over the Green Team 14-10. (Green Manager) White plays like All-Stars against Green. White made some excellent fielding plays, hit balls where the Green defense wasn’t and took advantage of unnecessary Green throws and errors to beat Green again. Offensively, Paul Siegal was 2 for 2 with 2 walks. Hugo Furth, Ken King and George Turner all went 3 for 4. Ken Widelitz was 2 for 3 with a walk. David Inouye and Lincoln Chung were both 2 for 4 with a double. (White Team Manager) The game wasn’t close until the last inning in which Green scored 4 times and had the bases loaded with one out. A double play ended the game. A hit then instead could very well have led to a Green victory, but it was not to be. The White Team made some very good fielding plays at third base and rover, Ed Lambert pulling in some of the many hits his way including a nice backhanded grab of a hard grounder over third base with the bases loaded. John Spielman made some “how did he get that” plays at rover and threw the final out of the game in the game ending double play, catching the throw from Dario Serna at shortstop. Top batters for the White Team were Dennis Groat who was 4/4 with three doubles and scored 3 runs, John Spielman was 3/4 with two doubles and a triple and scored 2 runs, Dario Serna was 3/4 and scored 2 runs, Glenn Honda subbing for injured Steve Kriendel was 3/4 and scored 2 runs, Ed Lambert was 3/4 and scored 2 runs, Bill Louie was 3/4 with a double.

The 2nd game between the Grey Team and the Blue Team was won by Blue 12-0.
