2026 WEEK 22 THURSDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Today’s 1st game between Admiral Risty Whalers and the Hangar Inn was won by the Whalers 22-7. With the win, the Whalers clinched at least a tie for 1st Place for the season. The Whalers were led by the 5 hits from Rick Mansker. Tony Luca (2 rbi’s), Adam Garcia (HR 4 rbi’s), Mike Costa (triple 6 rbi’s) and Jim Stevens (3 rbi’s) all with 4 hits each while Howard Miller and Matt Campbell (2 rbi’s) both adding 3 hits each. Alan Kiser, Richard Ecker (2 rbi’s) and Wayne Judah (rbi) all contributed 2 hits each. The Hangar Inn was able to get single runs in a couple of early innings and posted a 5 run inning in their 7th inning but couldn’t score in the 8th and 9th innings. Jeff Walsh, Hugh John MacDonald, Kelly Kahl, sub Jon Chapman (SF rbi), Ken Sackman and Ken Widelitz all had 2 hits for the Inn. Bill Louie scored 2 runs as did Kelly Kahl while Dwayne Kingsby added 2 rbi’s.

The 2nd game between the Jets and Kettle teams saw the Kettle win a closely fought contest 17-14. In a critical game to determine who would finish in 3rd place with 2 games remaining before playoffs, the Kettle after scoring only one run in their previous game, erupted for 31 hits and 17 runs against the Jets. Leading the way for the Kettle was Bill Katz, who had a perfect day going 5 for 5. 4 hits each for Jon Chapman and Chuck Berez. Bill Matson had 3 hits and a walk including a double with 2 on to end a 5 run 6th inning which put the Kettle out in front for good. 3 hits also for Keith Crafton, Steve Kreindel and Carlos Arias. The Jets were led by the 4 hits each from Paul Siegel (HR)and Andy Shelby, the 3 hits each from Joe LaMay, Bob Julius and Howard Rudich (Double). Steve Kato, Dario Serna, Robert Hernandez and Karl Primm each added 2 hits each.
