(White Manager) Today’s first game, White vs Green, was a defensive struggle through the fifth inning with the score 3-2 favor of the White Team. In the top of the sixth, White broke through with a 4 run rally and followed it up with a 6 run rally in the top of the 7th. White was greatly aided by a terrific catch in left field of a drive by Hugo Furth that could have been a home run or triple. Moving smartly to his left and back, Ed Lambert made a backhand over the shoulder catch. The White Team was also aided by two of three double plays made possible by Dario Sena who covered second and in an eyeblink each time made perfect bullet throws to first to get the double plays. The hard grounders were fielded by Steve Kriendel at short and David Johnson at second. Eric Ishibashi also turned a double play with runners on first and second, fielding a hard grounder, stepped on third base for the force out and threw to first to get the runner. The White hitting came alive in the 6th and 7th innings. Robert Kurtz went 4/4 with two triples and scored twice. Sub Glenn Honda was 3/4 with a triple and scored twice, Dario Sena was 3/4 with a double and scored twice, Dennis Groat was 3/4 with a double, Ed Lambert was 3/4 with a double, Steve Kriendel was 2/4 and scored twice, Roger Davidheiser was 2/3 and scored twice. No Report from Green Team.
(Grey Manager) Today’s second game was between the Gray vs Blue teams. You know when it is going to be a good day for a win and/or another loss. In today’s game it was the same outcome Grey 8 – Blue 17. The Gray team would come up to bat, they would hit the ball hard and put runners on base and were able to score 8 runs against the Blue but every situation they would have runners in scoring position the Blue team’s defense would shut the Grey team down, with double plays, line outs and fly outs. The Grey team didn’t give up it just wasn’t their day. Atta girl to Anne Kepple, she hit the ball hard and pitched fantastic and only walked one batter. No Report from the Blue Team.
