The 1st game between the Red Team and the Blue Team saw the Red winning 11-10. No Report from either team.
(White Manager) The 2nd game in a battle to stay out of last place, the White Team pulled off it’s third straight victory with strong fielding, pitching and hitting. They were aided by strong performances by three first place Green Team members whose team had the bye. They went 12/13 with 8 runs scored. David Inouye made several plays at rover along with shortstop Steve Kreindel making several plays at shortstop. Two thrilling plays were made at the plate. The first one was in the fourth inning by Grey’s shortstop, Jon Chapman, throwing home with a perfect long toss to home getting the runner trying to score from second on a hit. The next one was payback with a relay from Ed Lambert to David Inouye to Eric Ishibashi to Lester Ostroy standing on home plate getting Jon Chapman trying for an inside the park homer with a drive that bounced off the left field fence. Eric Ishibashi batted 4/4 with a double, Ken Widelitz was 4/4 with a double, Hugo Furth was 4/4, Ed Lambert was 3/4 with a home run, a double and a walk, David Inouye was 4/5, Dennis Groat was 3/4 with a double, Lester Ostroy was also 3/4 with two walks and a single, Robert Kurtz was 3/5 with a double, Steve Kreindel was 3/5. The game was still undecided with White up by five starting the 7th inning. White then scored 8 runs in the inning putting the game on ice. No Report from the Grey Team.
