(Green Manager) Today’s 1st game between the Green and Grey teams was won by the Green Team 12-9. This game turned into a nail-biter: Grey was down by 3 in the bottom of the 7th with bases loaded and 2 outs. Paul Siegal made a game-ending catch. Defensively, sub Rebecca Singer made a charging grab of a line drive in the 1st inning. In the bottom of the 7th David Inouye, playing Rover, cleanly fielded a hard ground ball far to his right and threw a high bullet to George Turner at 1B. George kept his foot on the base for the out. George also snagged a hard line drive down the first base line earlier in the game. Offensively, George Turner led the team going 4 – 4, Subs Rebecca Singer and George Wolff along with Hugo Furth each had 3 hits, Ken Sackman hit a 3 run home run. (Grey Manager) For both teams the scoring was close after 2 innings, 4-2 In favor of the Gray. In the 3rd the Green team scored 5 runs then adding another 4 in the 4th. The Grey team did not score until the 6th, producing 5 runs. That made the score, for the Gray team, 9 -11 Green, a 2 run deficit . Green added 1 more run and the Gray had a chance but fell short. Final 13-9 Green Team.
(White Manager) In the 2nd Game today White earned its first win besting Red 18-15. The lead changed each inning from the 4th to the 6th innings. Nice plays were made for White by Al Del Rosario at first base, Bill Louie in RF and Steve Kreindel at short stop, and Ward Brown at rover, and excellent pitching by Bart Mills. Ward Brown was 4/4 with a triple, Steve Kreindel was 4/4, Al Del Rosario was 3/3 as was Bart Mills. Rebecca Singer was 3/4 with a double, Ed Lambert was also 3/4 with a double, Dennis Groat was also 3/4, Robert Kurtz was 2/4. No Report from the Red Team.
