In the Season Opener the Jets and Butcher Construction played a very good 1st game of the year with the Butcher Construction coming out on top 14-10. The Jets were led by George Wolfe with a 4/4 day, Dario Serna, Andy Shelby, Louie Campos and Doug Freeman, all with 3 hits. Lincoln Chung, Dana Goler, Mike Barnett and Howard Rudich all added 2 hits each to round out the hitting. No Report from Butcher Construction.

In the 2nd game today the Admiral Risty Whalers were victorious over the Kettle 27-12. Risty led by Alan Kiser 4 hits (double plus 2 rbi’s) and Matt Campbell 4 hits (2 triples 4 rbi’s). Gary Bemis (triple plus 3 rbi’s), Tony Luca (2 rbi’s), Rick Mansker (triple plus 3 rbi’s), Adam Garcia (triple, HR plus 4 rbi’s), Richard Ecker (triple plus 2 rbi’s), Howard Miller, Clay Collins and Wayne Judah (4 rbi’s) and all with 3 hits each in the game. Jim Stevens added 2 hits (triple plus 3 rbi’s). The Whalers combined for 35 hits in their win. The Kettle were led by the 3 hits each for Howard Thompson, Chuck Berez, Doug Westhoff, Bill Katz and Steve Kriendel. Ernie Rounsefell and Mike Abeles each had 2 hits plus a walk.
