The 1st game of the 2025 Thursday League Playoffs had the 3rd Place Kettle and 2nd Place Jets playing to an exciting 16-15 win for the Kettlers. The lead changed hands throughout the game. The Jets had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 outs and the batter with a full count lined a screamer back through the middle but the Kettle’s pitcher Ernie Rousenfell snagged the hot liner for the 3rd and last out of the game. The Jets was led by Andy Shelby 4/4, Joe LaMay 3/4 (double and triple), Mike Baker 3/4 (double), Karl Primm 3/4 (double) and Doug Freeman 3/4. Doug Bagley, Ken King and Howard Rudich (double) all 2/4 for the day. No Report from the Kettle.

The 2nd game of the day had the Play-in winner 5th Place Shellback Tavern playing Admiral Risty Whalers in a 21-6 win for the Whalers. The Tavern was led by David Inouye 2/3, Brian Heffernan 2/4 (double), Hugh John McDonald 2/4, Dwayne Kingsby 2/4 and Ken Sackman 2/4. Admiral Risty was led by Pitcher Wayne Galer (2 rbi’s), Adam Garcia (double and 2 triples 3 rbi’s), and Mike Costa (3 rbi’s) all with 4 hits each. Rick Mansker, Rob Staal (2 rbi’s) and Jim Stevens all with 3 hits each. Tony Luca, Mike Lorden (3 rbi’s), Rich Ecker (2 rbi’s), Howard Miller (2 rbi’s), Clay Collins and Sam Barr all with 2 hits today. With their win Risty plays next Thursday for the championship against the Kettle.
