(Green Manager) Green held on in a close game beating Red 9-8. Green’s offense was led by Greer Wasson 4/4, Doug Westhoff 3/3 and Ken Widelitz 2/2 with a sac fly. Also making major contributions were sub Jon Chapman and Joe Tannerbauer, both with doubles and sub Rebecca Singer, all 2/3. Defensively, Rebecca made another terrific running catch on a long ball down the left field line. In the bottom of the 7th inning with a one run lead, runner on first and no outs, Green turned a double play and then got the last batter in Red’s lineup to ground out, thus avoiding the top of Red’s lineup. (Grey Manager) In the second game of the day the, it was between the Grey Team vs. Blue Team. It started out with high hopes that the Grey was looking for an upset against the unbeaten Blue team. The Grey team was charged up scoring 4 runs, then the Blue team answered back with 4 runs of their own. The next two innings the Grey could not mount any attack and did not score. While the Blue team pounded 5 runs in the 2 inning and 4 runs in the 3rd inning. The Grey team started a rally in the next three innings and each time they had bases loaded but only could add 8 runs to the score, while the blue team kept pace and produce 7 runs. Final score Grey 12 – Blue 20. Mike Jenkins 4/4, Sam Barr, Steve Daly, Pam Cedrone, Bill Louie (double) and Hal Joyce all with 3 hits.
