(Grey Manager) In the first game the Red team vs the Grey team the score was 13-7 Red Team. Both teams stayed close with each pitcher keeping the hitters off balance and the fielders were making key outs. The scoring was close up to the 7th inning with the Grey team ahead by 1 run 6-7 Grey. At the top of the 7th the Red team started hitting, and loaded the bases. A base hit scored the tying run and a double scored two more runs and by the time the Grey got the 3rd out the Red team scored 7 runs. The Grey team tried to answer but was shut out. Final. No Report from the Red Team.
(White Manager) The Greens beat the Whites 7-4 in the 11:15 game. Both teams had very good defense and good pitching by Charlie Golden and Ann Kepple. Especially noteworthy was Lincoln Chung at shortstop for the White Team. He snagged many hard shots both to his left and right. Too bad White Team hitting wasn’t of that caliber. Our best hitters were Steve Kreindel, 3/4, Hugo Furth, 2/3 with a double, Ward Brown 2/3, Lester Ostroy 2/3, Anne Kepple 2/3 and Glen Honda, 2/3. (Green Manager) Green had timely hitting and good defense in beating White 7 – 4 today. Earl Reason was 2 for 2. Doug Westhoff was 2 for 3, as was sub Joe Rassulo. Every other Green team member put up one hit. Alan Sperling hit a triple down the right field line for the team’s only extra base hit.
