In the 1st game today the 1st place team Admiral Risty played the 3rd Place team Kettle. The Whalers produced a 28 hit offensive attack and won 22-8. The Whalers were led by Gary Bemis (triple) and Alan Kiser (4 rbi’s) both with 4 hits on the day. Tony Luca, Mike Lorden (5 rbi’s) and Sam Barr (2 rbi’s) each with 3 hits, Wayne Galer, Rick Mansker (3 rbi’s), Rob Staal (2 rbi’s) and Jim Stevens all added 2 hits each. No Report from the Kettle.

The 2nd game today saw the Shellback Tavern get their first win of the season with a thrilling win over the 2nd Place BrokButcher Team with the score 21-18. Leading the Tavern was Hugh John McDonald and Dwayne Kingsby both with 4 hits, Brian Heffernan, Jeff Walsh, Harold Kingsly, Bart Mills (double) and David Inouye (triple) all contributed 3 hits each. Joe Rassulo, Ken Widelitz, Derek Loughran and Jon Chaykowski rounded out the hitting with 2 hits each. Shellback trailing 11-15 after 8 innings put together 10 runs in their last at bat to take the lead and held the Butchers to only 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th for the win.
