-The Admiral Risty Whalers played the Jets today combining hitting and very good defensive play in the Risty’s 19-2 win. The Jets’ 10 hits today was nowhere near their last weeks 34 hit game win. The Whalers were mostly spot on with their offense and defense today. Risty batted a team .717 average while the Jets had a team .333 average. Admiral Risty led by Gary Bemis 5 hits, Wayne Galer, Rick Mansker and Mike Costa all with 4 hits. Adam Garcia and Jim Stevens added 3 hits each while Mike Lorden, Alan Kiser (triple), Rob Staal (homerun), Howard Miller (double) and Wayne Judah (double) all contributing 2 hits. Steve Kato had 3 hits and Howard Rudich 2 hits. Joe LaMay (double), Ward Brown, Bryan White, Mike Baker and Ken King had the Jets other hits.

In the 2nd game the Kettle was the winner against Shellback Tavern with the score 19-7. The Tavern was led by Hugh John McDonald, Ron Rotstein, Jeff Walsh, Joe Rassulo and sub Howard Miller all with 3 hits each, while Ken Sackman and Derek Loughran (2 doubles) both with 2 hits each.
