2025 WEEK 10 TUESDAY PARITY LEAGUE HIGHLIGHTS

(Blue Manager) It looked like this was the week for the Blue Team to finally fall. 3 runs in the 1st was all Blue could muster for the first 5 innings with Green putting up 6. Blue finally woke up in the top of the 6th with a 5 run rally that put them ahead 8-6. Green was snuffed out in the 6th and 7th to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Outstanding play honors go to Mark Allen behind the dish, David Inouye for stellar defensive play at Rover, Doug Freeman on the hill and Howard Rudich who hit a bases clearing triple to cash in the winning runs. Blue remains undefeated at 8 and 0. (Green Manager) Green Team had 23 hits but only turned that offensive showing into 6 runs. Leading the hit parade was Doug Westhoff with 3 hits. Nine in the Green lineup had 2 hits each. Green kept the game close with a nifty double play with the bases loaded. Doug Westhoff fielded a ground ball at short, flipped it to Ed Lambert at 3rd for a force out and Ed threw to Bob Perkins at the plate, beating the runner who was trying to score from 3rd.

(White Manager) In the second game the White team prevailed with a last inning victory 14-13. This was a whole team victory with every player having at least one RBI or one run scored. The Red team scored 5 in the first, which is a curse in the Tuesday league. They went ahead 10-0 after scoring 5 in the 3rd inning but then encountered a bit of a run drought for the rest of the game while White caught up. The hitting stars for White were Dennis Groat with 3 singles and a BB, Mauro Pendilla, subbing for Hugo Furth with a single, double and 2 BBs, Steve Nicholson, League Commissioner, with 3 singles and Rebecca Singer with 3 singles. The game was decided in the last inning as Red didn’t score and White came to bat down three but then scored 4 for the win. (Red Manager) Red jumped out to a 10-0 lead but couldn’t make it stand up as White fought back for a 16-15 victory. Red was led by Al Del Rosario who had three hits including two doubles. Dave Johnson, Jim Morrison and Ron Rotstein also chipped in with three hits apiece.
