The first game today saw the Grunions victorious over the Kettle with a final score of 21-20. The Grunions led by Audie Freeman, David Inouye, Ed Lambert and Bart Mills all with 4 hits, while Jeff Walsh, Ron Rotstein, HughJohn McDonald, Jon Chaykowski, Bill Louis and Eddie Comick with 3 hits each in the game. Joe Rasullo had 2 hits to round out the hitting for Grunions. The Kettlers led by Chuck Berez with 5 hits, Mike P. 4 hits, Jon Chapman, Howard Thompson, Carlos Arias, Hal Hammersmith, Gary Freholz and Mike Abeles all with 3 hits. The Kettle behind 21-13 going into the last at bat came up 1 run short.

The finale of the day had the Admiral Risty Whalers battling the Jets in a great defensive game for both teams. The Risty’s prevailed outscoring the Jets 15-10. Risty led by the hitting of Wayne Galer and Rick Mansker both with 5 hits and Mansker’s 6 rbi’s, 3 hit each by Gary Bemis and Mike Lorden while Dave Taylor, Adam Garcia, Wayne Judah, Clay Collins and Jim Stevens each added 2 hits in the game. The Jets not to be denied had hitters too with Doug Bagley 4 hits, Doug Freeman 3 hits, Dario Sernas, Mike Baker, Bryan White (dbl) and Karl Primm all with 2 hits in the game. Dario, Bryan and Joe Owens had doubles in their at bats.
