The early game today found Shellback Tavern versus the Jets in a lopsided win for the Jets with the score if 21-3. The 2nd game of the day was a close one with the 2nd and 3rd place teams BrokButcher and Kettle playing to a 10-9 win for the Kettlers. The Kettle scored five runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to take a one run lead, and then held the Butchers scoreless in the ninth to secure the 10-9 victory. Leading the way for the Kettle were Chuck Berez and Gary Frueholz, both going 4 for 4. Jon Chapman and Howard Thompson had three hits apiece. With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 8th, and the Kettle down by four runs, Keith Crafton hit a triple to score all 3 runners and bring the Kettle within one. He later scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Doug Westhoff, then another triple by Gary Frueholz and a single by Carlos Arias to give the Kettle the lead and the win.
