2024 WEEK 15 HIGHLIGHTS

In the early contest the 1st Place Admiral Risty Whalers played the 2nd Place BrokButcher Realty team with Risty coming out ahead 22-10 and basically by holding the Butchers scoreless in 7 of the 9 innings played and bashing 38 hits in 52 at bats with the team average of .731. Risty was led by Alan Kiser’s 5/5 day (double and triple), Richard Ecker (double 3 rbi’s) and Gary Bemis (3 rbi’s) both with 4 hits, Tony Luca (3 rbi’s), Wayne Galer, Mike Lorden (double), Dave Taylor, Mike Costa (2 doubles), Wayne Judah and Sam Barr all with 3 hits each, Rick Mansker (homerun 4 rbi’s) and Adam Garcia (2 rbi’s) both had 2 hits each. All Risty batters safely reached bases in at least 2 times at bat. No Report from BrokButcher Realty as yet.

The 2nd contest today between the Jets and Kettle was an exciting game that was tied 13-13 starting the 8th inning with Kettle going ahead by 5 runs in the bottom of the inning. The Jets in the top of the 9th inning did not score leading to Kettle’s win. Joe LaMay and Andy Shelby (homerun) led the Jets with 4 hits each. Steve Kato, Dario Serna (triple), Lincoln Chung, Mike Baker and Bryan White (double) all contributed 3 hits each. The Kettle got off to a slow start scoring no runs and stranding 8 runners in the first 3 innings, but their bats then woke up and they finished with 18 runs in the next 5 innings. Leading their way was Howard Thompson with 4 hits, Chuck Berez’s perfect day at the plate with 3 hits and 2 walks. Three hits each for Hal Hammersmith and Keith Crafton. In this contest the Kettle were beneficiaries of 11 walks courtesy of the Jets which kept the game close for 8 innings The Jets and Kettle are now currently tied for 3rd Place.
